Cardiff Business Club Launches New Season Celebrating the Strength of the Capital’s Business Community

Cardiff Business Club has launched its 2026–27 season with a gathering of members, partners and sponsors celebrating the strength of the capital’s business community and looking ahead to a new programme of speakers and networking events.

The season launch was held at Y Dosbarth, The Classroom at Cardiff and Vale College, bringing together representatives from businesses and organisations from across Cardiff and the wider region.

The event provided an opportunity to reconnect following the summer and preview the Club’s programme for the coming year, which will bring senior business leaders and decision-makers to Cardiff to share their experiences and perspectives.

Cardiff Business Club has long provided a meeting point for the city’s business community, with its events combining high-profile speakers with opportunities to build relationships across different industries.

The launch also provided an opportunity to recognise the Club’s 2026–27 season sponsors, which together represent a cross-section of the economy and some of the major issues facing businesses and individuals.

Cardiff Metropolitan University brings expertise spanning education, skills and its relationship with business, while Bute Energy represents one of the fastest-changing areas of the Welsh economy as Wales considers the next phase of the renewables revolution.

Swansea Building Society brings perspectives from mortgage finance and savings, while Brooks Macdonald adds expertise in wealth management at a time when forthcoming pension changes are creating important conversations for businesses and individuals. CBRE, meanwhile, brings insight from across real estate and facilities management.

Their involvement will help connect the Club’s wider programme with some of the economic and business issues shaping Cardiff, Wales and the UK.

Reflecting on the launch, Phil Jardine said:

“What a great launch event at Cardiff Business Club, hosted wonderfully in the amazing Classroom at Cardiff and Vale College, looking ahead to an incredible season of speakers.

“Thank you to all who came to enjoy the afternoon and to our season partners and sponsors in particular.”

Sharon James Evans, Principal of Cardiff and Vale College and Cardiff Business Club board member, said:

“It was wonderful to welcome Cardiff Business Club, its members, partners and sponsors to Cardiff and Vale College and to host the launch in the spectacular surroundings of Y Dosbarth, The Classroom.

“The Club plays an important role in bringing together people from across Cardiff’s business community, creating connections and providing a space to share ideas and experiences.

“As both Principal of the College and a Cardiff Business Club board member, it was particularly pleasing to see so many people coming together here to mark the start of what promises to be another exciting season for the Club.”

The Club’s new season will now move from its launch event into its main speaker programme.

The first networking lunch will welcome Ruth Patterson, Vice President and Managing Director of HP Inc, to Cardiff on Thursday 24 September. Taking place at the Cardiff Marriott Hotel from 12pm to 3pm, the event will give members and guests the opportunity to hear from one of the senior figures within the global technology business while networking with organisations from across the Welsh business community.

The programme will continue throughout 2026–27 with a series of speakers and events designed to bring business leaders together, create new connections and provide a platform for conversations around leadership, enterprise and the economy.
